Synopsis:
DEE
I’ve always been good at wearing masks. Not letting anyone see the real me. I’m content being the happy-go-lucky best friend. The strong willed boss. The independent woman who doesn’t need a man.
But the truth is I’m just as broken as the rest of you. I’m terrified that all it will take is one person to make all my carefully constructed walls crumble into fine dust. So I guard my heart with everything I have. Determined to never let anyone get close enough to hurt me again.
All is perfect until HE walks into my life. No… he doesn’t just walk. He struts his good-looking, sex-oozing self right into my space and demands that I see HIM. Making me want what I know I can’t have.
So I did the only thing I know how to do.
I run.
But he just won’t let me go.
BECK
The second I see her, I know she will be mine. I see past the gorgeous smiles and heart-stopping laughter. I see HER. She doesn’t want me to know her secrets or the past that haunts her, but I make it my mission to find out.
To make her mine.
She can run all she wants, but it will never be far enough to stop me from coming after her.
She’s it for me and she knows it.
She’s just too scared to admit it.
Review:
This book, HOLY SH*T!
I couldn't believe what I had read, after I was done with it. The other two books in the series, Axel and Cage, are amazing books. This book blew the other two away. I couldn't believe how much this author has bloomed like a flower while writing this series. This first one was good, I loved it, but it just wasn't something that was going to stick with me forever. The second one was really good, better than the first, but still not something that I was going to remember forever. Now, this book, is something that is going to forever stick with me. Everything that happened in this book, just had me in awe. I cried, like a baby might I add, laughed, got pissed. Everything. I didn't know what to think when Cooper was killed. I was pissed, I was crying, and I was heart broken. I thought why in the world with the author do that, but I understood. Something big needed to happen, and it sure did. The whole book is written so well.
I love that Beck never gave up on Dee. No matter what, he was always there to pick up the pieces. Always supportive of Dee. I felt so bad for Beck, he wanted Dee to see him so bad, but Dee was so wrapped up in her head and couldn't come out of it. All of the shit Dee went through, as a child, through high school, and college. I couldn't imagine what it was like. She was so strong for everything she had gone through.
The book flowed very well, the writing is awesome. I love this author so much, and she did such an amazing job on this book. In my opinion, this book was the best one out of the three. I wouldn't change anything at all with this book, it was perfect just the way it was written. I cannot wait for Cooper.
The Series:
Axel (Corps Security, #1)
Cage (Corps Security, #2)
